Piemonte DOC Barbera
Casot di Mainera is a new Bava family vineyard cultivated with Barbera grapes
with its traditional “casot” in the middle.
We have taken the opportunity of the recent replanting to create a typical Italian
red wine with a modern character. A wine which brings together the strong fruitiness
of the piedmontese Barbera and the intense softness of cépage Merlot.
Casot di Mainera retains the aroma and freshness of a young Barbera combined
with a surprising softness and depth.
GRAPE - ORIGIN:
90% Barbera and 10% Merlot from the vineyards at the summit of the hills of Rocche
at Agliano
VINIFICATION:
After careful malolactic fermentation in barriques, this wine matures in stainless
steel vats until bottling at springtime
CHARACTER: One appreciates the handsome intense ruby red colour rich with shades of amethyst,
the aroma is pleasantly fruity and intense. To taste is vinous, agreeable and
dry, with harmonious alcoholic strength and good aftertaste
