BAVA COMPANY
The Bava family’s business history get started in a lively village nestled in
the hills of Monferrato, Cocconato.
Since the creation of the cellars in 1911, one hundred vintages are now passed
and four generations have passed through.
Nowadays the vineyards run by Piero Bava and his sons, Roberto, Giulio and Paolo,
extend from Monferrato to Langa, alternating with hectars of wild woods.
The vineyards are cultivated with care and attention, to minimize the impact
on the environment: the grass between the rows helps prevent soil erosion, the
mowing grass and the remains of pruning are used as natural fertilizer for the
land and the poles used are rigorously on wood.
The winery’s marketing is creative, involving many now-established forms of communication
including concerts, art and photography exhibitions in the cellars.
Bava is a continuously-evolving estate; its wine cellars are rich in important
vintages of elegant Barolos, rich Barberas, refreshing Chardonnays and Gavi, aromatic
Moscato and Malvasia.
